About the role

Within the OINIS Division, the INFRAS/SUBMARINE department designs, deploys, operates and maintains the Group’s submarine systems.

Within the department, the Submarine Operations & Maintenance (SOM) team is responsible for the operation, maintenance and restoration of submarine cables.

Within SOM, The NA-RLO team (Network administrator & Restoration Liaison Officer) is involved in restoring submarine cable traffic, disseminating information following analysis of events affecting submarine cables (incidents, scheduled works), and administering submarine cable capacity in consortium (LION, LION2, FLY-LION3, KANAWA, ARIMAO).

 

In this context you will be responsible for:

  • Design, develop and upgrade the data storage and processing databases needed to manage and analyze events affecting cable-submarine capacities.
  • As Administrator of submarine cable system capacities and technical subjects, operate datas to extract the information required for this function.
  • Participate in the implementation of means to restore services.
  • Ensure communication during incidents affecting the submarine network.

Activities

As Network Capacities Administrator for the LION, LION2, FLY-LION3, KANAWA and ARIMAO cable system consortia:

  • design and adapt IT tools for capacity management (input, analysis, processing, presentation…).
  • study and allocate submarine link routings according to co-owners’ requests.
  • publish quarterly reports on operations carried out (productions, reroutings, delations, re-designations…).
  • Manage the content of websites dedicated to the Consortia.

As Restoration Liaison Officer for the Orange submarine traffic:

  • ensure that the means are available to implement the restorations.
  • assure the availability and quality of information resources made available to Network Operation Center.

As an information distributor:

  • after analysis, extract relevant information and ensure communication with Orange entities during events affecting submarine networks.
  • establish and transmit regular information reports concerning network impacted by operations involving the submarine network, to the Orange entities concerned by these outages (Orange Business, International Wholesale, Orange Wholesale France...).

About you

  • Rigour.

  • Skils in designing and operating databases (Access, Excel).
  • Skills in website content administration (CMS website).
  • Basic technical knowledge of transmission: training will be provided.
  • English TOEIC 750 level.
  • Ability to work in a team and cross-functionally with third-party teams.
