Job Description 

Mission 

The primary mission of the DevOps Engineer is to streamline and enhance the deployment infrastructure to support the organization’s objectives. Key objectives include improving operational efficiency, enhancing service reliability, accelerating the delivery of applications, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation across teams. 

Main activities 

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Mobile Core 4G/5G applications and services. 

Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of network functions in a Kubernetes environment. 

Collaborate with network, development, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and high availability of services. 

Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to infrastructure, deployments, and service performance. 

Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements in all automation and deployment processes. 

About you

Within OINIS/ Services, the “Mobile Services” department is responsible for the architecture, engineering, the construction, deployment and operation of all international mobile services (roaming, messaging, 5G CNaaS), which are one of the growth drivers for international wholesale. The department's ambition is to drive the software transformation of mobile services as part of the move to 5G.  

The Mobile Core Network Team oversees the architecture, engineering, deployment, and operation of the Mobile Core Network.  

What we offer

Key Skills, Knowledge and Abilities 

Required Skills: 

  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, tobecontinous templates). 
  • Proficiency in automation and configuration management tools (e.g., OC, kubectl, k9S, helm, kustomize, fluxcd and argoCD). 
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration as a whole: From OCI creation (dockerfile, kaniko) through deployment (crane, skopeo) to workload usage (docker, podman, kubernetes). 
  • Solid understanding of mobile core network architectures (EPC, 5GC, protocols like Diameter, GTP, SCTP). 
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes platforms on premise and hosted (OpenShift, Rancher) and advanced features (Services, LoadBalancer, CNI, Multus and Ceph). Virtualization technologies is a plus (KVM, OpenStack). 
  • Advanced scripting skills (Python, Bash, Shell, possibly Golang and Git). 
  • Good knowledge of IP (routes, rules, iptables, arp, BGP).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). 
  • Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps and network environments. 
  • Understanding Agile and DevOps methodologies. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously and proactively. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English (French is a plus). 
  • Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
