The Pre-Sales Engineer (PSE) is responsible for proposing to customers via Sales an optimal service, a financial and operational solution leveraging Orange Wholesale International existing / emerging solutions based on OWI Content Delivery Boost portfolio (Delivery, Security, Edge Computing, etc.) and potentially customer specific development and third party services. The PSE ensures seamless integration and interoperability between all service blocks and components. The PSE’s functional work activity covers development of technical architecture, service level agreements, overall solution costing, delivery planning and offer elaboration inclusive of customer facing activities such as presentations and negotiations as required.
The PSE works together with the Sales Team to improve OWI sales performance and results. He pilots the design of technical and commercial offers and initiates the delivery step, contributes to OWI product development and evolution, and may drive the development of non-standard offers, addressing requirements from prospects & customers.
The PSE is responsible for continuously looking into digital technology evolution/opportunities with the ambition to increase and improve client relationship and grow the (profitable) business and value of services delivered by Orange. PRE maintains an updated expertise on OWI CDN solutions which is fastly evolving, and is referent to the Sales team on the product
The PSE is expected to understand the client landscape and to be an instrumental in the client facing activities such as discovery workshops, client presentations, supporting development of a client’s digital journey, consultative selling and (contract) negotiation.
Works together with the sales teams from qualification to offer presentation.
Proposes new ideas / customized solutions to the customers to better answer their requirements / facilitate their business.
Supports Account Management team in defining scope of solution and create compelling customer specific propositions by creatively bundling our services capability and those available through third parties
Gets involved in customer facing activities (customer meetings, professional events, etc) in order to better understand the customers need / build strong relationship with customers technical team
Coordinates commercial offers set-up in order to complete profitable and feasible offers matching customer needs and planning: technical solution design and related feasibility study, pricing/profitability contributions.
Hands over the service implementation to delivery team providing relevant inputs gathered during pre-sales feasibility study. Liaises with sales, marketing and product factory in order to contribute to OWI products portfolio evolution : feedback on customer needs, contribution to non-standard solutions and products experimentation
5+ years of experience in pre-sales customer facing organization ideally in the Media, Retail, Public Sector, and/or Gaming industry
Proven track record in creating and positioning solutions to client needs.
Fluency in written and verbal English is a must
MSc degree in telecommunications or information technology and systems or other relevant field
Ability to create and present Conceptual designs and case studies
Ability to recognize and assess clients’ key business drivers and challenges
Technical knowledge of the CDN ecosystem (DNS, Caching, security, Edge computing) is very appreciated
Good understanding of business case concept (pricing/costing /risks provision, …)
Business understanding of the CDN market and the End to End data streaming value chain
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
