Location Eschborn

 

Purpose of Position

  • Act as senior local Finance contact for external and internal parties and the outsourced back office Accounting Teams in Warsaw and Chennai where GL manager, AR team, AP team, Cash Management and Fixed Assets team are based;
  • Control processes related to outsourced activities plus provide support for accounting, audit and tax and other local legislation compliance to the Regional Accounting Manager – especially in the light of upcoming change in OBS ERP system as well as upcoming changes in German regulations

 

 

Main Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure local compliance on taxes (VAT and Corporate Income Taxes, Withholding Tax, etc.);
  • Ensure compliance with local reporting regulations (Statistical Authorities, Time Recording etc.);
  • Daily work with back office staff based in Chennai / Warsaw (GL Manager, Cash, AP mainly), especially support on critical supplier issues if needed
  • Support Preparation of local financial statements
  • Support statutory audits (preparation and fieldwork phase, liaising directly with auditors and reporting progress to Regional Accounting Manager);
  • Support review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and necessary follow-up, as well as preparation of certain balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Support all initiatives, actions and reviews needed for transition to new ERP system or any legally required new tools
  • Management of outsourced payroll provider, performing payroll controls together with HR, prepare accounting documentation and be primary point of contact for payroll-related queries for Austria
  • Preparation and documentation of monthly controls of designed Internal Control System (ICS);
  • Direct report to Regional Accounting Manager of the region;

 

Skills/Experience/Qualifications required to perform this position

 

  • Education: “Bilanzbuchhalter” qualification or comparable accounting/tax experience;
  • At least 5 years of work experience in general finance/accounting in complex multinational environment, ideally with experience in outsourcing environment, strong knowledge of German regulations on CIT/VAT and other statutory reporting;
  • Experience in working with Finance ERP systems (Oracle/Fusion Financials);
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Language skills: German, English. French language would be a nice to have;
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in English;
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills;
  • Ability to handle high level of pressure and critical decision making;
  • Good organizational and management skills;
  • Good team player, with ability to act as individual practitioner;
