About the role

Purpose

The Consultant is an individual contributor, whose purpose is to manage single/multiple small/medium sized Customers (or projects) and associated activities to deliver a series of outcomes in a coordinated fashion. He will lead client-facing activities and internal change projects, and take responsibility for the achievement of agreed goals and objectives. s/he will utilize established processes and procedures within the organization.

Consultant will also manage sub-projects that are part of a larger project, under the leadership of a Cloud Architects. The Consultant will support Project Team members through the provisioning of project control and planning functions on projects and may take sole responsibility for execution of small projects, either standalone or as part of a larger project or program.

You will support cloud deployment and migration tasks, contributing to the design and execution of solutions based on specific requirements. This includes helping select suitable cloud providers while keeping cost-effectiveness and technical needs in mind. Your contributions will focus on expanding, migrating, and onboarding customers to cloud platforms while maintaining high-quality service during operations.

About you

Missions and main activities

Consultant:

  • Manage multiple, concurrent low to medium complexity projects from conception to delivery
  • Drive Cloud project team member in execution of all deliverables defined in the scope of the project
  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams (matrix management)
  • Develop and manage project schedules/plans, cross-functional deliverables, and detailed timelines
  • Scope Identification and Scope Control
  • Identify and minimize project risk
  • Project status reporting at project team, customer and management levels
  • Maintain all project materials in a centralized project repository
  • Drive team accountability for deliverables
  • Identify and manage project priorities and cross-project dependencies
  • Facilitate DC&E processes, as well as evaluate current processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Manage vendor engagement, facilities requirements, bill-of-materials etc.
  • Coordinate plans with facilities, business teams, operations to meet strict project deadlines for on-time delivery
  • Support Hyperscaler’s builds, storage expansions, and other types of Cloud projects
  • Support Cloud projects (Compute, Network, Storage, Backup etc.), including client migrations/on-boarding and capacity expansion etc.
  • Contribute to the definition of transversal test plans (integration & migration)
  • Contribute to ensuring good quality of execution and validation of internal and customer acceptance tests
  • Ensure delivery of required documentation (technical, procedures, configuration management tools) required for handover to Operations teams 
  • Be responsible for handover to the relevant Operational teams from project
  • Contribute to the Post Implementation Review with Operations teams to identify and roll out improvement plans
  • Provides support to the function when requested. 

 

Skills/Experience/Qualification

  • 3 to 5 years Cloud management experience, with overall experience of 7 to 8 years.
  • Technology Knowledge - ability to understand the cloud technical solution and question the project team as to solution deliverables, dependencies, impact, etc.
  • Skilled in creating project plans, including scope definition, risk management plan, and execution management
  • Ability to manage project scope creep
  • Ability to manage teams in a matrix structure

 

Domain Experience:

  • Experience of working in a cloud operations environment desirable
  • Experience in managing small/medium sized projects, especially on-boarding and migration of new customers on a cloud platform
  • Experience in managing cloud platform capacity & hardware upgrade and refresh projects
  • Experience in dealing with service desk to setup new customers
  • Adept at managing customers
  • Experience in transitioning of virtualized platform from build to operations, including planning of early life support.

 

Education and certifications:

  • Graduate 
  • Certification: Cloud Certification ( AWS, Azure, GCP)

Tools and processes:

  • Solid skills with project management tools (MS Project, Visio, Excel, Power Point etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of ITIL Incident/Change/Problem/Release management processes.

 

Soft skills:

  • Very good written and oral communication skills (English mandatory)
  • Being able to work under pressure
  • Being able to be available 24x7.
  • Customer oriented and strong sensitivity to customer satisfaction
  • Leadership quality to lead transversal activities 
  • Good interpersonal, team-building skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated and determined attitude
