The Engagement Manager leads the development of high quality proposals for qualified opportunities. (S)he works in close tandem with the deal owner (Account Manager or Business Partner), who is accountable for all aspects of the deal, in particular for the deal shaping, definition of a winning bid strategy and win themes.
The Engagement Manager supports the deal owner in terms of setting the deal strategy, shaping the deal. (S)he also is actively involved in preparing ad hoc customer presentations and deliverables including client interaction (e.g. workshops).
The Engagement Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of the response; driving the team through the international bid process with associated milestones, gates and rules of governance; coordinating inputs from the bid team members, as well as risks and mitigation actions; ensuring that Orange Business Services response:
1) Matches customer requirements, format and timescales,
2) Is in line with the bid strategy and win themes,
3) Is consistent in writing style / format throughout and of appropriate quality.

Bid qualification:
Working closely with deal owner (Account Manager or Business Partner), Solution Director/ Solution Architect and Commercial Manager:
Deal strategy :
Actively contributes to setting the deal strategy, ensures it is documented by the deal owner (Account Manager or Business Partner), and properly communicated to the extended bid team including key components of the offer :
Bid team management
In coordination with the Solution Director/Solution Architect recommendations, defines and implements the bid team organization, required skills and secures the necessary resources from various departments, escalating requirements as required
Bid process management:
Initiates and maintains the bid deliverables :
– Bid dashboard (e.g. action tracker, assumption list)
– Bid project plan (milestones & gates)
– Bid response plan (texting)
– Bid team staffing plan

Ability to successfully lead and manage an opportunity through the company international bid process and governance

Understanding of the selling process and complex bids

education, qualifications, and certifications
Degree in business, science (or other relevant area), or equivalent relevant experience with a demonstrable commitment to self-development
Expertise in Business Administration (sales, finance, commercial and legal appreciation, contractual scheme, competition analysis)
Optional accreditation / certification in area of expertise (e.g. PMP, APMP)
Experience
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the telecom or IT industry
Experience in sales / bid management / project management / solution selling
Experience in managing geographically distributed teams.
Working in an international environment.
