About the role

  • Provide HR leadership for Mauritius and Madagascar MSCs ensuring Orange Promise is put in action.
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of HR consultants:
  • Provide guidance and direction to the MSCs HR team to ensure the implementation of the HR strategy and plans.
  • Ensure the MSCs HR team is adequately resourced and trained to meet the needs of the business. Maintain leading edge knowledge on HR issues in order to act as a Local Business Partner.
  • Manage the HR functions to guarantee the efficient delivery of the HR            functional contribution to the company in the short and long term.
  • Responsible to develop and execute annual country HR plan in consultation with Mauritius and Madagascar MSCs Leadership board.
  • Regional Head of HR identify/ facilitate agreement on key business critical issues and set priorities, present solutions for each priority, execute and manage deadlines, provide regular updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • be proactive in highlighting risks / liabilities and provide ideas / insights / expertise around HR topics and trends.
  • Anticipate impact changes and acts to develop and deliver programs that support change.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to managers to help them achieve their people objectives and initiate actions to motivate and engage people.
  • Accountable for managing employee relations concerns, and complaints, ensuring adherence to applicable company policy and local laws and regulations.
  • Ensures smooth coordination and administration of Company compensation and benefits programs by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends (health plans, retirement plans, leaves of absence, health & safety programs, teleworking, including but not limited to employees’ Compensation).
  • Recommend and deliver programs to address employee morale and engagement ensuring actions based on the results of annual Voice UP campaigns.
  • Work with HR Management for the region and global stakeholders, create and            deliver Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity programs.
  • Identify business needs and process improvement opportunities; collaborate with  HR Shared Services Center to assess and develop solutions to improve business results through effective support to employees and managers.
  • Pilot the end to end recruitment process performances to ensure that the company is seen as the Employer of Choice and to achieve good employee experience in this area.
  • Maintain the company performance management system, reward structure and career succession planning in order to deliver efficient processes for managing recruitment, performance, leadership, organizational culture and reward structure.
  • Network and represent OBS in the Indian Ocean environment in particular with academic institutions and Orange in this area.
  • Build multi-functional relationships, both as a member of the country management board and when working with people across all functions on a day-to-day basis, creating an environment where information and resources are shared in pursuit of business goals.
  • Maintain and manage the HR systems and tools through efficient usage to ensure data integrity of all staff records in Mauritius.
  • Ensure having a workable HR filing and record archiving system.
  • Deliver a high-quality HR service, ensure best practice standards, practices and systems are applied and to adhered to.
  • Manage the country’s pay-roll process in collaboration with Finance. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of pay slip.   

About you

  • Possesses a university degree ideally in Human Resource Management or a related business discipline.
  • Demonstrates a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Human Resources whereas 3 years at management level.
  • Has experience and sound knowledge of employment legislation and interpretation of local labor law.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of HR policy and practices such as talent, performance, learning, reward, succession planning.
  • Is fluent in both English and French.
  • Has Agility and Digital skills (comfortable in social networks and agile governance).
  • Has capacity to work in a complex and matrix environment.
  • Has ability to juggle between critical and routine operational delivery needs and strategic business planning and support.
  • Has proven skills in translating business needs into an effective HR plan / activities to manage.
  • Is a solid team player with a teaming, collaborative mindset.
  • Has excellent communications skills (verbal and written) with ability to deliver effective oral and written presentations.
  • Has strong analytical, data interpretation and problem-solving skills to assess opportunity for continuous improvement.
  • Has effective staff leadership, development, and management skills.
  • Has a good knowledge in B2B market and OBS HR process & tools would be a plus;
  • Additional Information Qualifications.
  • Requires 10+ years human progressive leadership in business or human resource management roles in organizations with multi-state responsibility, previous change management (growth, restructuring, acquisition), M&A resources management.
  • Experience in the telecommunications and consulting industry a plus.
  • You bring open mindedness, ability to handle pressure, leading with courage and empathy, assertiveness and communication effectively.
