About the role

Role Overview

 

We are seeking an experienced L3 Voice Engineer responsible for deployment, configuration, migration, and commissioning of enterprise IP telephony and unified communication solutions. The role focuses on executing complex voice implementations, handling cutovers, ensuring high availability, and delivering stable go-live across multi-site environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Deploy and configure IP Telephony and Unified Communication solutions.
  • Implement call routing plans, dial plans, and numbering schemes.
  • Configure SIP trunks, PRI gateways, and analog gateways.
  • Execute greenfield and brownfield voice deployments.
  • Perform cluster build and integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Configure and implement solutions of multi-OEMs.
  • Configure SIP, H.323, MGCP protocols.
  • Implement SRST for branch survivability.
  • Configure CUBE for SIP trunk integration.
  • Implement QoS for voice traffic across WAN.
  • Plan and execute PBX to IP telephony migrations.
  • Perform PRI to SIP trunk migrations.
  • Execute change windows with minimal downtime.
  • Prepare rollback plans and contingency procedures.
  • Coordinate with telecom providers for circuit activation/testing.
  • Integrate voice with:
    • Contact Center solutions
    • IVR systems
    • Call recording platforms
    • Active Directory / LDAP
  • Conduct UAT, failover, and redundancy testing.
  • Validate call quality (MOS), jitter, and latency.
  • Prepare HLD/LLD and As-Built documentation.
  • Create MOPs (Method of Procedure) for implementation.
  • Conduct KT sessions for Operations (L2/L3 Support).
  • Maintain IP addressing, dial plan, and device inventory records.
  • Work with OEMs like Cisco Systems and Avaya, etc.
  • Coordinate with ISP/Telecom providers for SIP/PRI provisioning.
  • Support project managers during planning and execution phases.

 

 

Technical Skills Required

  • SIP, H.323, MGCP
  • Dial plan design & call routing
  • CUBE configuration
  • SRST configuration
  • Voice gateway configuration (ISR/ASR)
  • CUCM cluster deployment
  • Unity voicemail configuration
  • Jabber / Softphone deployment
  • Basic Contact Center integration
  • VLANs for voice (Voice VLAN)
  • QoS (LLQ, marking, DSCP)
  • WAN optimization for voice traffic
  • Basic routing & switching understanding
  • SIP security (TLS/SRTP – preferred)
  • Certificate management (preferred)
  • Access control & role-based administration

 

Experience Requirements

  • 8–15 years of experience in enterprise voice environments.
  • Experience handling multi-site rollouts and migrations.
  • Experience in government or large enterprise deployments (preferred).

 

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Cisco Systems CCNP Collaboration
  • Cisco Systems CCIE Collaboration (preferred)
  • Avaya Certification (ACIS/ACSS)
  • Other OEM equivalent certificate

 

Key Competencies

  • Strong execution capability during cutovers.
  • Ability to work in critical change windows.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and RCA skills.
  • Clear communication with business stakeholders.
  • Ability to mentor L1/L2 engineers.
