About the role

Job Role Purpose

  • The Learning & Development (L&D) Tools Technology Specialist is a business-embedded technology expert responsible for the configuration, optimization, governance, and continuous evolution of L&D systems, data, and reporting.
  • This role serves as a critical bridge between Orange Business Campus, and Digital Technology, translating learning and workforce development needs into scalable system configurations, data models, dashboards, and product enhancements that drive measurable business outcomes.

 

The role ensures that L&D technology:

  • Reliably supports compliance and mandatory training 
  • Enables upskilling and reskilling at scale 
  • Delivers actionable data for strategic workforce decisions 
  • Evolves through modern capabilities, including Generative AI 

 

While Digital Technology owns infrastructure, architecture, and security, this role owns business configuration, data logic, and product value realization.


Mission

Ensure L&D systems and data are robust, reliable, and business-aligned to enable:

  • Seamless delivery of learning initiatives (including compliance programs) 
  • High-quality, trusted data and dashboards for HR and leadership 
  • Scalable skill development and certification tracking 
  • Continuous innovation in digital learning, including AI-powered personalization 
  • Data-driven decision-making for workforce transformation

Key Responsibilities

  1. L&D Product Ownership & Management
  • Act as Product Owner for L&D platforms (e.g., LMS, LXP, learning portals), ensuring alignment with organizational learning strategy 
  • Translate business needs into: 
    • System configurations and optimized workflows
    • Seamless user journeys and UX improvements
    • Reporting capabilities and feature enhancements
  • Own, manage, and prioritize the product backlog in line with L&D and business priorities
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders (HR, L&D, business SPOCs, Digital Technology) to gather requirements and drive delivery

  1. Delivery, Releases & Change Management
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and sign-off
  • Manage release cycles, including planning, deployment, and post-release validation 
  • Drive structured change management and communication to ensure smooth adoption of new features and enhancements 
  • Develop release notes, user guides, and knowledge base documentation

  1. Data Modeling & Data Engineering
  2. Support Reporting & Analytics (when required)
  3. Functional Support, Governance & Continuity
    • Controlled changes, releases, and versioning.
  • Design and maintain L&D data models covering: 
    • Learning activity and completion 
    • Compliance metrics 
    • Platform adoption 
    • Skills and capability indicators 
  • Build and manage data pipelines (ETL/ELT) across learning and HR systems 
  • Develop and optimize SQL-based data structures for performance and scalability 
  • Automate workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort 
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and KPI alignment 
  • Align with enterprise data governance and HRIS standards

  • Build intuitive dashboards and analytics (e.g., Power BI or equivalent) 
  • Define and manage KPIs, calculations, and data logic 
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting across stakeholders 
  • Deliver actionable insights on: 
    • Skill gaps and learning impact 
    • Adoption trends and engagement 
    • Compliance risks 
  • Support Orange Business Campus workforce planning and transformation initiatives

  • Provide second level of support for L&D systems and reporting (answer users queries, etc)
  • Act as the technical reference for tool configuration and data interpretation 
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation: 
    • Configurations and workflows 
    • Data models and pipelines 
    • KPIs and reporting logic 
  • Partner with IT/SysOps to ensure system stability, backups, and recovery 
  • Reduce operational risk through documentation and knowledge sharing

  1. Collaboration with Digital Technology / Corporate IT
  • Partner with Digital Technology / Corporate IT (owners of infrastructure and security) 
  • Ensure business requirements are clearly defined, validated, and compliant 
  • Contribute to system integrations and architecture discussions 
  • Represent L&D in Agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, reviews) 
  • Ensure L&D business logic is accurately reflected in technical implementations

  1. Innovation & Future Readiness
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in digital learning, LXP/LMS capabilities, and learning technologies 
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new tools, features, or innovations (e.g., AI-driven learning, personalization, automation) 
  • Support long-term scalability and evolution of the learning technology ecosystem

 

 

About you

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Educational Technology, HR Technology, or related field

 

Experience

  • 3+ years in: 
    • Learning systems (LMS/LXP) or HRIS 
    • Business-facing technology roles in L&D 
    • Systems automation
    • Data, reporting, or analytics roles 
  • Proven experience in: 
    • Product ownership (backlog, UAT, stakeholder management) 
    • Data modeling, SQL, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI) 
  • Experience working across business and IT environments 
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira) preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • SQL and data modeling expertise
  • Experience with dashboards and data visualization tools
  • Knowledge of APIs and system integrations
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles
  • Exposure to AI and adaptive learning technologies
