About the role

Context
In the context of new IoT offers development, Orange aims at building and operating a new Mobile core dedicated to IoT. This platform is mainly composed of a mobile 4G/5G core network, an IMS solution and SMSC platform, relying on a cloud-native Kubernetes infrastructure, and will support 4G/5G data, voice, and SMS services.

In that context, a SAFe train aiming at building and ruuning this “IoT platform” has been set-up and we are looking for “a System team leader” acting as the critical bridge between architecture, platform infrastructure, and system validation. 

 

Main Responsibilities

As System Team Leader of IoT train, you will lead a ‘system integration team’ whose responsibilities are:

  • To deliver the lab & pre-production environment and guaranteeing their stability
  • To define and drive the overall testing strategy of IoT services, to support component teams of IoT train for their tests, and to execute E2E IoT tests

This team is composed of 4 to 8 contributors (testers, technical architect, devops ), located in different locations. This team is integrated in a SAFe train organization.

You represent the team at train level and you work closely with the IoT product manager, the solution architect and with all the PO of ‘component teams’ of the train to get aligned on roadmap, priorities and risks of the project. 

You actively contribute to SAFe ceremonies and governance: PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops. 

Basing on the IoT services marketing description and roadmap, you define the strategy and roadmap related to qualification and pre-production environment set-up and changes and related to IoT service testing. 

You animate the system team and coordinate their activities as well as the overall validation activities of the train.

Your main responabilities are: 

  • To ensure that environments are:
  • stable and reliable
  • Sufficienlty representative of production depending on the tests
  • Available for component teams and system validation activities
  • To define and drive the global system testing strategy, covering:
  • Definition of “which tests to be performed on which platform?”
  • Definition of a staged strategy of tests and a clear process for validation of a new release 
  • Definition of strategy to check Security, Scalability, performance, resilience 
  • To coordinate test campaigns at ART (Agile Release Train) level by:
  • Defining planning of tests of each component team and monitor its execution
  • Leading the E2E tests campaign under the responsibility of your system team
  • Tracking and reporting anomalies and key quality KPIs
  • To industrialize progressively system validation (including tooling for tracking tests results and anomaly, automation of recurrent tests, standardization of testing and CI/CD practices across teams …)

Technical skills

  • 4G/5G core network (EPC / 5GC), IMS, SMS services
  • IoT scenarii
  • end-to-end service flow understanding
  • Kubernetes-based deployment understanding, CNF lifecycle awareness, cloud-native environments and tools
  • Strong experience in integration and testing and in organizing and leading distributed complex validation tests campaigns 
  • CI/CD & Devops competencies (knowledge about CI/CD, devops tools, automation…)

Non-technical skills: 

  • Ability to work in a large and complex organization
  • High skills of communication to interact with several teams, in an international context
  • Skills of team leading and animation
  • Experience of agile / scrum / SAFe methodology
  • security & operability awareness (design for security, observability, easy operation)
  • Continuous improvement mindset (SRE-oriented practices)

Profile

  • Senior E2E Qualification leader with 10 years experience in mobile networks domain
