Mission / Role purpose

This role is  to support follow the sun model operations for network B&R function. The role brings deeper technical experience in resolving  high complex backbone network problems and implement  pilot , high impact and complex changes on the backbone network infrastructure while demonstrating highest adherence to network change management procedures.
It assists Network Advanced  team members by  enhancing team’s technical skills through domain management and contributing to targeted customer satisfaction and network performance business objectives
The role  contributes to the platform release management projects and related transversal activities. 
It gives technical inputs to support root cause analysis for major network incidents and problems.

 

Key Accountabilities
• Provide Expert level technical support to operations team to handle & resolve complex Network and Service issues.
• Manage Escalations through active engagement with customer facing entities, providing regular updates, participating in conference calls, extending technical support and guidance to customer facing teams to address customer technical queries.
• Participate & take a lead to resolve crisis situations.
• Identify, manage and record escalation trends and Keep track of all P1/P2 incidents, identify improvements and work closely with different operational teams for implementing it ensuring enhanced network & services availability to customers.
• Take lead to drive global technical life cycle management projects. Prepare project report and share project progress status report with stake holders.
• Take lead to drive automation initiatives to automate changes executed by operations.
• Participate & drive global Process improvement initiative – Incident, Change, Problem, Release & Vendor Management.
• Coach & Mentor team on process adherence.
• Ensure that functional operational KPI's are always meet and propose new KPIs to better manage our operational performance and efficiency
• Knowledge Management – enhance technical competency of team members in multiple domains.

 

•    Excellent and Hands-on knowledge of communication standards and OSI/commercial protocols as follows:
Network Technologies – IP-MPLS, ISP (Open Transit) Netowrk, IMN Services , IS-IS,  OSPF, BGP4, M-BGP, U-NNI, Type A/B/C NNI, 
•     Excellent understanding of SDWAN, SDN network and Segment Routing
•    Professioanl level knowledge and hands on troubleshooting experience on more than one of the following technologies:
•    CISCO ASR/IOS   Routers / Cisco Catalyst Switches 
•    Juniper Routers   
•    NSO and similar nerowrk orchestration tools
•    Network & Service Provisioning of mpls VPN, IPsec, GRE and other IP services over internet/mpls.
•    Excellent Analytical and trouble-shooting skills
•    Basic project management skills 
•    Good understanding of Telecom Service providers Networks and Services
•    Basic level understanding of  LINUX/UNIX OPC platforms , Python , ANSIBLE scripting
